Men of War delivers a highly detailed World War II theatre of action, with amazing new features making this game completely unique and a must have for every RTS gamer! Men of War takes place in Europe and North Africa during the height of World War II, the story unfolding across three different campaigns played out through the eyes of Soviet, Allied and German soldiers. Each campaign has its own scenario and structured timeline bringing a different story of the war to life.
The main Soviet campaign sees two student comrades, Smirnov and Kuznetzov, join the army and quickly become brothers in arms as they rise through the ranks and experience the rigours of war. The whole story unfolds across three campaigns, with five German and five Allied misssions completing the trilogy, each telling a different story of WWII spanning across Russia, North Africa, Ukraine, Greece, Germany, Italy and the Pacific.
Men of War will feature no less than twenty new units to play with, including new designs on tanks, APCs and heavy guns. Dynamic in-game video enhances the single player missions, while the sounds of war have been given new range with over one hundred new sound effects of weapons and combat gear, recorded under real operating conditions. The single player campaign will also feature a fully customisable user interface, so players are able to have their command layout just as they please.
In addition to the in-depth single player experience, Men of War also unleashes all new multiplayer maps along with new ‘capture the flag’ and ‘high-value cargo’ modes, all faithfully recreated with stunning graphics and refined AI. A new rating system has also been introduced to ensure a fair fight in online multiplayer battles.
Men of War is the follow up of the highly successful Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, developed by Best Way . The unique gameplay and design made the predecessor standing out from the RTS genre and found very soon a large fanbase, which is still active due to the impressive mod support.
Men of War starts were Soldiers ended, it delivers improved physics which allows you to destroy whole maps on a level of detail you never saw before, the newly developed armor penetration physics calculate the impact angle of every single projectile in accordance to the historic armor value of each vehicle.
Every tank has the sound of its original, dropping you in a fully cinematic and authentic sound experience, which hardly can be described. Eye of the Beholder is an all-time favourite. It's a real-time 3D dungeon romp at its best. You control a party of four adventurers that has to explore the sewers of your city and eradicate the evil that has infested them. The graphics in this game are superb, from the faces of your party members and NPC's to swords, potions and magical items. The monsters are also really well done and there are loads of them! There are heaps of items too, just waiting to be picked up. Westwood was known for making visually stunning introductions and they don't disappoint. The intro explains the story so far and then you're off... Creating a character is simple and straightforward. You can choose from a list of races and classes and then re-roll the statistics until you're happy. The combat in the game is also easy; you just have to right-click on the weapon and it is used. However, only your front characters can fight with swords; the back ones must use ranged weapons or magic. Magic is used by memorizing spells while resting and then choosing a spell from a list. The sound is haunting and very fitting to the environment. You can hear skeletons jingle their chains as they move, and believe me, it's unnerving. All in all, this game is worth any RPG-er's time. There is fun to be had, nerves to be shot and maps to be drawn.

The lengthy 17-track, 80-minute show will please old and new fans alike, shot on the moody stage of one of the Prague concerts. The CD release contains two live-tracks, which are not featured on the DVD. Perhaps the only disappointment is that Losing My Religion and Still I'm Sad were not performed in this concert, however with the wealth of tracks that Gregorian now have in their repetoire this is understandable. The cover of the new album lists this as "Decade 1" for the group - so we can only look forward to even more beautiful music ahead.

Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code caused a huge sensation when it came out in 2003. The book, a modern twist on the Holy Grail quest, has sold over 20 million copies in 42 languages. It claimed to reveal an extraordinary alternate history of the Western world, including the existence of Jesus Christ's surviving bloodline, which was protected for 2,000 years by a secret society called the Priory of Sion. Her book, The Real History Behind the Da Vinci Code, investigates the historical figures, places, and events behind Brown's thriller. While The Da Vinci Code is a great yarn, she writes, it makes numerous factual distortions and was largely inspired by another book, Holy Blood, Holy Grail, that is far from credible.
The real Priory of Sion, Newman writes, was founded in the 1950s by a French far-right extremist named Pierre Plantard, who tried to pass himself off as a descendant of Dagobert II and, therefore, as the rightful king of France. Newman writes that French historians have discredited Plantard's claims as a hoax. In The Da Vinci Code, the Priory is said to have been led by an illustrious line of grand masters, including Leonardo Da Vinci. Newman writes that Leonardo, while certainly a genius, was famously erratic, undependable, and easily distracted--far too flaky, she suggests, to be chosen to lead any group, let alone one supposedly as secret and important as the Priory. Newman says The Da Vinci Code also makes basic mistakes about Parisian geography, the layout of the Louvre museum, and important facts of French and biblical history. So did Jesus have children? Newman says there is no evidence for that either. Overall, her book is a salient reminder that fiction is sometimes just that. --Alex Roslin

Although the book is geared toward scholarly readers, it uses a limitted amount of jargon and carefully explains the background of all of the texts provided, making it accessible ot any reader with an interest in this subject. Despite the popularity of Nepal as a destination for tourists, the religions of Nepal are very poorly understood by most Westerners. This book, by presenting texts which are actually popular among modern Newar Buddhists gives an excellent feeling for how the religion is understod by the people who live and practice it. On the more scholarly side, his discussion of the "domestication" of texts and the role of stories and ritual in culture is insightful, though there is clearly room for his argument to be taken further.

Barbarian Invasion is the first expansion for the personal computer game Rome: Total War which takes the action forward to the period of the decline of the Western Roman Empire. The campaign begins in 363 A.D. and ends in 476 A.D. If the player has not achieved the campaign goals in 476, an option to quit or to continue the game is presented. The expansion includes simulation of the religious tension of the period, as three major religions (Christianity, Zoroastrianism and Paganism) fought for dominance. Also depicted are the great migrations of the Germanic and steppe peoples (notably the Huns) throughout Europe.

Rome Total War: Alexander is the second expansion for the personal computer game Rome: Total War. It is set in an earlier time period, putting the player in the role of Alexander the Great. It begins with Alexander's ascension to the Macedonian throne in 336 B.C. and lasts for 100 turns, each of which, unlike the original game and the first expansion, Barbarian Invasion, do not represent six months (assuming that it follows Alexander's actual reign of thirteen years, each turn would represent nearly seven weeks). The game is much the same as the original Rome: Total War, but with fewer factions, different units, and a different map. The player's goal is to conquer 30 provinces, including key cities such as Tyre, Halicarnassus and Babylon, within the 100 turn limit.

Rhem 3 (ISO)

RHEM is a first-person, point and click adventure that can be compared to Riven. You ride into the large, unusual world of Rhem in a mining cart and soon you discover that you are unable to leave. Your major objective is to find a way to leave Rhem. To do this you must find and reconstruct a letter which has been divided into four parts and hidden. You will do this totally alone without interaction with any other characters. Many of the areas are closed to you at first and the way to open them is by solving a multitude of adventure-type puzzles. There are mechanically based puzzles involving levers and switches, but you will also find codes to decipher and strange symbols, maps, color patterns and switchboxes.

The scene is a pre-French Revolution Bastille, where various political prisoners are being held: a woman who was raped and impregnated by the king, a police chief who was accused of selling bad pork, and the Marquis, who was unjustly accused of working for the overthrow of the king. The Marquis is only interested in writing his deviant stories, while his penis yearns for a little action (they argue about this frequently), the prime candidate being the jailer who likes to be buggered. The corrupt priest arranges to have the pregnant woman raped by the Marquis so they can claim the king had nothing to do with it. The priest also steals the Marquis' manuscripts and publishes them for his own profit. Things come to a head as the people rise up against the tyranny

Vittorioso sulla flotta musulmana, il moro Otello, che è al servizio della Repubblica di Venezia, rientra da trionfatore a Cipro, dove lo attende la bellissima moglie Desdemona. Egli trova però anche il suo luogotenente Cassio ed il fido, ma invidioso Jago, che aspira a prenderne il posto. Subito Jago provoca un alterco fra Cassio e un altro ufficiale, Roderigo; Otello, sdegnato, priva il suo Luogotenente del grado e del comando. Poi, continuando nelle sue trame, Jago instilla nel cuore del Moro una folle gelosia, facendo in modo che questi sorprenda Cassio a colloquio con la moglie (sollecitata dal giovane ad intervenire in di lui favore). Infine, aiutato dalla moglie Emilia, ancella di Desdemona, Jago sottrae alla dama un fazzoletto (dono di Otello) che poi abbandona in casa di Cassio. Geloso e furioso, Otello, durante un ricevimento in onore di una Ambasceria veneziana, offende Desdemona: ma richiamato in Patria, intende lasciare comunque il comando a Cassio. Mentre quest'ultimo scampa alla morte per mano di Roderigo (istigato dal perfido Jago), Otello entra come impazzito nella propria camera e soffoca Desdemona. Indi, baciando per l'ultima volta quel viso che pure adora, si uccide pugnalandosi al cuore.
With a only a few exceptions, the film follows the same plot as the opera. Jago plots and brings about Otello's downfall by convincing him that his wife Desdemona is engaged in an affair with the young lieutenant Cassio, provoking Otello to murder her in a blind rage.

The series ran to 94 full-length CDs, and has earned Howard a place in the Guinness Book Of Records.
Leslie Howard AM (born 29 April 1948) is an Australian pianist and composer. He is best known for being the first and only pianist to record the total piano output of Franz Liszt, including the world premiere recordings of over 300 of Liszt's works. However, his activities go far beyond this project. He has been described by The Guardian as "a master of a tradition of pianism in serious danger of dying out".

It was at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1994 that Al Di Meola, Jean-Luc Ponty and Stanley Clarke played as a trio for the first time. Clarke and Di Meola had been part of Return to Forever and while they were comfortable in the familiarity of knowing each other, Ponty reached in and became a perfect fit. That language of understanding is seen to advantage on this portrait. The music they played that night were taken from their individual projects. There were other tunes that would later be included on their album The Rite of Strings. These were songs that captured the sublime and the earthy, the gentle and the flighty. They get off on the right note with the Spanish tinged “Song to John,” the playing deep in the groove of the heart. And even as each turns in a strong performance, the highlight is the arresting duologue between Clarke and Di Meola. Monty Alexander joins them on an encore of the tune. He dimensions the tune with his crisp flights while Di Meola reins in the pace for a stimulating extension of the melody. They weave a spell of magic on “La Cancion de Sofia” and, in doing so, enhance the remarkable beauty of the composition. Ponty uses the upper register of the violin for a quick emphasis, the rhythm moves into high gear and then comes full circle to the warm embrace of the melody. Of the solo turns, Clarke comes off the best on “School Days,” his extraordinary technique married to a brilliant level of creativity. Ponty uses delayed effect to thicken the texture of his “Eulogy to Oscar Romero,” but it does have a tempered depth, and Di Meola has a clean, crisp presence on “Summer Country Song.” There are some excellent close-ups which enhance involvement with the music and the musicians. Curse of the Spawn is set in a futuristic world in the throes of apocalypse, when Evil stands at the threshold of victory. The protagonist is HellSpawn Daniel Llanso, who died in prison after killing his cruel, abusive father to save his sister and mother. With the curse of the Spawn upon him, Daniel Llanso is doomed to serve as Hell's general, but even with the Dark Side constantly hounding him, Daniel Llanso can't quite commit himself to the task. In death, as in life, he finds himself with conflicting missions: beholden to a horrific monster, but driven only by the instinct to save his family.

Estos cuatro volúmenes reúnen el período 1931/1935. En ellos Foster demostró claramente las cualidades de su dibujo y realizó una serie de innovaciones en la concepción gráfica de la historieta que marcaron un antes y un después en el medio (fondos detallados como nunca antes se habían dibujado, amplias panorámicas, perspectivas inusuales para su momento).

On the surface, Championship Manager 2008 looks to be an improvement over last year's effort, playing at a higher resolution with a slicker-looking interface, but underneath this gloss, the gameplay fails to satisfy. To live out the dream of being a football manager, you take control of one of any number of club teams and--simultaneously, if you want--a national team, with the aim being to win all the real-life competitions your team faces. Teams and competitions come from leagues across the globe, with most countries having at least their top two leagues represented, and some, such as Italy and England, having five. You pick the team each week, negotiate transfers, settle contracts, oversee training, and have a certain amount of control pitch-side on match days.
The most obvious change on match days from Championship Manager 2007 is the representation of the match itself. The 3D match engine is similar to last year, with players represented by coloured vertical cylinders that jump, slide, and fall in a more convincing manner than before, but while the engine is watchable, the play itself doesn't feel quite right. Little things, such as the regular occurrence of goalkeepers scoring their own goals from corners, do make the games seem much less real, and in a game such as this, it's those little details that make the difference.
